Odd Weekend
Monday, March 2nd, 2009We played very well on Saturday against the Bruins - we were focused and had something to play for - while Florida got beat by the Devils in a humiliating fashion.
Then the tables turned and Florida beat us on Sunday and left us mumbling bad things to ourselves.
We gained two points on Florida on Saturday and gave them right back on Sunday. No progress in the standings against one another for either team this weekend.
It seems a simple equation right now - play tight D; stay out of the penalty box; play with energy - and we sure do win a lot of games.
Great teams will get blown out in some match ups. It happens all around the NHL. It isn’t an excuse but it does happen.
It is troubling. We apologize for when it does and all we can do is put the loss behind us and prepare for Tuesday’s tilt against a desperate Hurricane’s team.
Onward and enjoy the snow day.
