Tom Boswell writes a very insightful article here. We aren’t as good as we seemed and we aren’t as bad as we seem to play right now either. I still believe in our plan. I still won’t waver from it. We have more work to do but consistency is important and so is belief in a system.
We are having growing pains. We are still an unfinished product. We do have to get back to some basics of our system. A little more focus and hard work will cure a lot of what ails us, a little luck as well.
But the basic guts of this article are very accurate. The road to the top is very seldom a straight line up. Now let us get back to work.

Although I wholeheartedly support the plan the Capitals have followed the past several years, I believe that you guys blew it this time. The team has been in need of strong veteran leadership ever since Chris Clark went down. The veterans in place do not fit this bill as they are generally the quiet leader by example type. A player such as Bill Guerin, who only cost the Penguins a draft pick, would have been perfect. I believe that the Capitals are set for the future better than any team in the NHL but there are times when the youngsters need help and I believe this season is just such a case. Having said all that, you guys are doing a phenomenal job and I hope I’m wrong about all the above.
my favorite quote:)…it’s true the guerin deal to pens was a STEAL…howd they do it??
