After Last Sunday’s Game

After last Sunday’s game, many Penguins fans sent me emails with very supportive and funny messages. Most were along the lines of ”Hey Ted! You suck and we can’t wait to play you in the playoffs.”
Well - if the season ended today - guess who we would be playing in the first round? Yep, the Penguins. The Caps would have home ice advantage but according to the Penguins fans, that won’t matter.

I will remain humble. I respect the Penguins and their fan base but as my grandmother always admonished me, “Be careful what you wish for.”

  1. That’s okay Ted, I got my share Sunday morning before the game when I was walking the streets of downtown Pittsburgh on my way to work while rocking my red Ovie jersey. It was a fun morning at work for sure.

  2. Pens fans are the worst. Winning is what will keep them away.

    Ted, most true hockey fans are sick of Bettman. Seeing how he works for you can you do a post of your thought? I think it is time to get a hockey guy back in the top spot.

    save those e-mails and reply them back with “Be careful what you wish for” when we beat them in a playoff series.

  4. The way the Pens are playing I expect them to jump Montreal into 5th, if not even 4th. But if not bring them on!

  5. If “you suck” is the worst thing Ted was emailed, he got off light. My section on Sunday was filled with black and yellow clad people yelling all manner of graphic anatomical expletives in front of four-year olds and raising the tension toward physical altercation. Nothing violent broke out thankfully, but could we at least get the ushers to walk up and down the aisles a couple times a period just to show a presence and maybe tell people to chill out if needed? I think that could help significantly and would cost nothing.

  6. Thanks for the extra effort Ted for trying to keep the whack pen fans out of verizon center in general, but this really backfired at us in a nasty manner. I do not know if you were aware of the hundreds of rude obnoxious fans that crowded the museum steps for more than an hour to taunt us about our “loss”. They actually either took their time to either buy caps merchandise, or steal it; They were throwing objects at cars making them stop as the “corrupt” and uneducated DC police stood watching….They were also throwing ovechkin shirts up in the air and chanting ridiculously whack sayings…so ok we won all the games except the last one where we “half won” and they do this…IT WAS MORE BUZZKILLER THAN BUZZKILLINGTON HIMSELF…I wish thousands of eggs fell from the sky and smashed their stupid ugly heterosexual jerseys! or maybe we should have special supersoaker give aways excluded to the caps fans after a pens “loss”…anyways ted i know you are secluded in your limo or wtvr transportation, but it is really hard to control oneself with such provocation…even gnarly pens fans were jumping around knocking into caps fans screaming whoooo and such…such unprofessional behavior, this is becoming an all too much familiar unpleasant feeling… I LOVE THE CAPS…but we must do something so that this NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN!!!
    may i extend a congrats for Feds for tying an overtime NHL record…GO CAPS!!!
    and for the record the pens won’t make the playoffs…i say it here first

  7. While I’m not keen on playing the Pens in the playoff, I’d LOVE to pay them back for all the playoff appearances we were shut off of at their hands!! LET’S GO CAPS!!!
