I am very happy for Brian Pothier. He will make his long anticipated return to the NHL on this road trip.

I was in Boston at the game when he was injured. I have spoken to Brian and offered my encouragement and support to him and his family over the last two years. His safety and well-being are our main concerns. His career is secondary to us and to him.

He is ready to play. He wants to play so let us see what he can do!

Playing will be terrific for him; for our team; and for his well-being now.

We have shown loyalty to Brian. We want the best for him. I feel from a team standpoint that we just made a great trade deadline move and added a vet D man who can help us in the playoffs too.

Go Caps! And go play your heart out Brian! We are all proud of you.
