Not showing up for games against "lesser teams" is a season long pattern. This isn't the flu, injuries, or any other "there's no excuse" excuse. One or two losses to bad teams? Fine. It happens. A slump at some point in the season that includes losses to bad teams? Again: it happens. But TWELVE LOSSES in games against the likes of the Trashers and the Leafs? If the Caps had 3/4ths of the points they gave away this year, they'd be in first. Read it and reap:

Oct 10 - Thrashers 7-4
Oct 23 - Coyotes 2-1
Nov 20 - Kings 5-2
Nov 24 - Wild 4-3
Nov 29 - Blue Jackets 3-0
Jan 9 - Blue Jackets 3–0
Jan 13 - Oilers 5–2
Jan 20 - Senators 3-2
Feb 5 - Kings 5-4
Feb 20 -	Avalanche 4-1
Mar 5 - Maple Leafs 2-1
Mar 16 - Thrashers 5-1

TWELVE LOSSES: 48-21

Average score in all games: 4-1.75.
