I agree. Alex Semin is one of the most gifted players in the NHL.
A first round steal for us in the draft, he was picked middle of the pack via a trade deadline deal for Adam Oates all those many years ago.
He is still young but he is developing well. He needs to stay healthy and remain focused at all times but he is truly an elite player and everyone around the NHL now knows it.
Semin is a truly special and great player, an amazing talent that would be so in any era of the NHL. As a fan, whenever I see 28 come over the boards my focus on the game intensifies and he rewards on pretty much every shift.
Semin is awesome and I love watching him play. If he can reduce some of his frustration penalties like hooking and tripping his game will excell to a whole new level. I am also very happy to have met Sasha, speak to him in native Russian and get his autograph on an aging rookie card. Next time I see him I would invite him over for some home cooked Russian cuisine.
