Only Look Forward Now

OK. Last night’s game is over. It represented a lot of hype. We won. We get two points. We are now in second place in the East with 99 points. We have beaten Tampa ten times in a row. Alex Ovechkin had a decent game, huh? :-)  He was low key. He had 4 points and 2 goals. He reaches 100 points for the third time in his career. He had more hits than any player on both teams, another quality night. :-) Backstrom was dominant too with two goals and an assist and he was a monster on face offs as well.

But the feel good moment was the game winning goal by Brian Pothier. Kudos to Brian. All of your hard work and patience paid off. A good trade deadline move by George McPhee.

We now get a few days off. The players get their first weekend days off in a long while to rest up; collect their thoughts; and get ready for the last six games of the year.

Our next game isn’t until Wednesday when we play the Islanders who shut out the Red Wings IN Detroit last night 2-0. These things happen. The best team in the league, by standings points, gets beat at home by the worst team in the league by standings points.

Onward and thanks for another home sellout last night. Go Caps!

  1. The best moment in the Game as far as I was concerned was Brian Pothier’s goal. It meant he was *all* the way back from that injury…and I couldn’t be happier for him, for his family and for the Caps…

I would have picked him as the #1 star, Ovie #2 and there should have been a #3 for Marty St. Louis who played his heart out despite playing for an awful team…
