Guess What Two Words I am Going to Use Over and Over Now?

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

We are blessed to have such great fans. We broke all of our attendance records this year for home games. Thank you.

I bet 80 percent of the crowd at yesterday’s game was wearing and Rocking the Red. Thank you.

We concluded a terrific home stand and home schedule yesterday. It was a great year of high performance, great thrills and lots of standings points. Thank you.

We have another week of games, three to be exact. It is possible if we were to win all three games that we could conclude the season with the most points and wins ever by a Capitals team. While that would be nice, I am more focused on the coming playoffs; who we will play and how we will stack up; and all things about the second season. Thank you.

I can’t say anymore but thank you. Our fans are that special to me and our franchise. Go Caps!

  1. Ted,
You and your organization have given us a team to believe in and be proud of, and be excited by – and that is more than just a winning team. You pay attention to the details for fans at the game, and watching from afar. Your players come out into the community and appear to be really good people. You personally communicate via this blog and in a multitude of ways. You have a delighted and appreciative fan base, because
    you’ve earned it!

Lets Go Caps, this year and next and the next….

  2. Teddy, You thought every detail through, you made tough choices, you gave many an opportunity of a lifetime and everything came from the heart. If you think about it, it’s really the American Dream. God Bless. It’s playoff time. Lets Go Caps!!!!!!!!!

  3. No, sir, thank YOU…

…for having a plan and sticking to it, despite the slings and arrows.

…for securing the long-term services of the best player in a generation.

…for giving Washington a hockey team it can be proud of.

…for being so open to the fans, despite how demanding we can be sometimes.

    And, last but not least…

…for somehow getting an out-crowd of one to feel at home with an in-crowd of 18,277.

If what you give is what you get returned, then this team will win its first Stanley Cup–its first of many–very, very soon.

  4. We love you Ted!!
I have a question. I want to try out for the Red Rockers. Is there an age limit? I’m 44 !!! My husband said I would be really good at it.

  5. My Canadian friends are envious that I live in this area and can watch the Caps live! Best team in the NHL to follow. Congrats and thank YOU!

  6. THANK YOU TED for owning a team that is well worth the 8 (or more) hour drive from Mass to see as often as possible. :) It was great being there for the clinching of the South East division and for the last home game. Lots of fun times in that building supporting the best team in the NHL! :)

  7. Thank you Ted, for coming up with the plan to rebuild this team, for being patient with it, and for turning this town, finally, into a hockey town.

What is nice is that the fans here are coming around, the building is full every night, and likely this is the best Washington Capitals team *ever* (and yes, that goes back to the team that had three hall-of-fame players in the line up in the 1980s!)

See you next week for Round 1 Game 1, of what should be a great run.

  8. Thank you too, Ted. My husband and I are first-time STHs and it was worth every penny! We have renewed and can’t wait for the playoffs and another great year next year.
