The other day at a Capitals game the dessert cart came into the box and one of my partners laughed and said, “Hmmm – our moveable feast is here.”
Ever wonder where that term originated?
It is about Easter and how the day and date is pegged based on a series of calculations mostly regarding Passover dates as set by Jewish Rabbis. The Feast to celebrate the holiday was mobile and is celebrated on a different day every year.
Christ was a Jew. He came into Jerusalem to celebrate Passover. He was crucified post Passover as to not incite riots amongst the people by the Romans.
Easter is about hope. Passover is about Hope. Both celebrations are about dodging the big bullet; seeing better times ahead; and then celebrating rebirth and new life. Eat. Drink. Be merry. There are better days ahead.
Hope always springs eternal –Happy Easter .
I love this! Excellent!
