Orthodox Easter is Celebrated Today

Happy Easter my fellow Greeks and Happy Easter Alex Ovechkin and family too.

For many people, today is the true and right date for the celebration of Easter. We follow a bit different schedule based on our beliefs and the following of Old Testament Jewish Rabbis’ scheduling based on Passover. Today we celebrate and eat lamb and break colored eggs.

All drama is based on the Three Great Acts of the Greek Orthodox Drama: Creation, Death and Resurrection.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend Ted. Our fellow Russians and Greeks met together at a park on a beautiful Sunday day (most wearing CAPS gear) and celebrated in good old country fashion. We had eggs, lamb, ham, shashlik (kabobs) and many other traditional Russian food. The weather couldn’t be better and we all hope that our Caps make it through the first round in 6 games.
