Alchemy? Mashup?

As I have noted in the past winning a Stanley Cup is, I believe, the hardest thing to do in business and in sports.

The NHL Playoffs are docudramas each and every game.

Talent will take you so far.

Coaching and preparation are of paramount importance.

Health and fitness play a huge role now.

Mental health and a positive psychology are key as well.

Heart and determination and maturity come in really handy now too.

Staying out of the box and getting a fair shake by the third party refs is really important.

Good fortune, luck and luck of execution are also key. We hit a post and we lose 1-0. They miss a goal across the crease while we come down and score and it is 2-0 with inches making a difference in outcomes for both games.

Mashing everything above into some kind of winning stew is what the eventual champions will have cooked up.

Tonight is a dramatic game for us but, to be honest, every game in the playoffs is a dramatic game for us now.

Keep sending those positive vibes our way. Every little bit helps I believe. Go Caps!

  1. Question about Caps tickets for Mr. Leonsis…we regularly go to Caps games and we’re extremely excited about the playoffs. We were at game 2 (purchased overpriced tickets through Ticketexchange) and I’ve been trying to purchase tickets for my family of 3 for Friday night’s game but have been unsuccessful in getting 3 seats together due to the 2 ticket limit. How are families to buy tickets for 3 or more besides calling Ticketmaster repeatedly in hopes of timing it correctly with seats being released and putting it on two or more credit cards of different names and mailing addresses? I realize that the 2 ticket control prevents fraudulent activities but it shuts out honest people. Is there is a work-around the 2 ticket limit for families? Thank you.

  2. As my husband would say “it’s a game of inches”!!!!!! The very best of luck & may the force be with you. LETS GO CAPS!!!!!!

  3. A lot of luck involved in winning a hockey game. It tends to even out over an 82 game season. Not necessarily over a 7 game series, however.
