Here it is. Check it out.
I just saw it online today. It is well done and a very professionally produced take on Alex. I wish we could have seen a bit more of Alex the teammate and mentor here but sizzle sells on television. I have seen Alex do many little things with fans, teammates and our community that warm the heart.
I want everyone to know that I personally take Alex’s safety and the safety of all of those around here seriously and I have counseled him on his need for speed in his car on our streets. I can assure you that he doesn’t drive at very high speeds and that he knows and respects our laws. And his health and well-being.
Anyway, check this one out and thank you ESPN for all of the hard work here.
I live a mile from Kettler and can say that on Glebe Rd Alex is a gentleman. He has asked to cut in and waved, let me cut in, and drives more carefully that most of the people I encounter on my way. Of course he might realize that Glebe Rd is a @#%#$% mess around Balston and be smarter than the average Arlington driver. I would say he is getting a bum rap on driving. But did you see the INSANE you tube clip with Alex and Mike driving a Golf Cart? and the closing loading dock bay door. AAArrrggg:)
After what happened to Sergi Oviechkin, one would hope Alex would take more care driving.
That’s a classy comment from Matt the Ranger fan. Kudos to him.
Noting your comments about Alex, I have been a fan of the sport and a NYR season subscriber for 24 years. I have never seen a player as exceptional as he. Realize that I have been through the later years of the Gretzky’s, Messier’s and Leetch’s, with Jagr, etc., etc. Alex is the best player I have seen. To boot, Mr. McPhee has done a wonderful job complementing him. When his line is on the ice at MSG the arena is quiet with the exception of a patron yelling, “get the puck away from him”. I have never heard the arena so quiet as last nights final 10 minutes despite fact the Rangers had the lead!!
You will win many Cups with this player. And you may have found the final piece of the puzzle, a pretty good rookie goalie. Good luck, and enjoy watching your team!! What talent!!
Thank you, Ted
We all need him to be alive!!!
I was really looking forward to this, but once again ESPN shows it’s lack of understanding about hockey, it’s stars and it’s fans! .
I love the passion that Alex lives his life with and that he brings to the Caps and hockey in general. I think there was so much more that this could have focused on instead of his ‘need for speed’ and his partying. I wanted more on what he has done for the community, the kids and even the Caps. To me this was a chance to introduce people to Alex and the Caps. I really think they missed a great chance with this one, but since it was ESPN, I’m not at all surprised!
Ted – Thanks for the reassurance about Alex’s driving! It’s bad enough as a fan when you worry about his health and well-being when he’s on the ice!
