I guess NBC yesterday invited President Obama to Tuesday’s Capitals Game 7 against the New York Rangers.
Our President always has a standing invitation to attend any game he so desires.
See this Washington Times article on the matter. Click here. If anyone is listening at the White House in the scheduling office, come on out and enjoy NHL hockey and see Washington DC at its best Rocking the Red. Thank you Mr. President and Go Caps!
Seeing obama in the VC at a Caps game would be like viewing a pile of dog crap in a rose garden. To be red and a CAPS fan is GREAT. Having a red for a president sucks. Keep politics out of our hockey.
You can get him to the Phone Booth, Ted. I can not imagine him not enjoying the atmosphere there during the playoffs. It’s crazy. But I’m afraid I must ask that you insist that he wear red.
Don’t really care to see this President at the Phone Booth, isn’t he already messing up enough things?
Aren’t you the one always talking about staying focused on winning a championship? The last thing anyone needs is the distraction of having Obama there. What are you thinking?
I second Charlie’s concern. The ice seemed choppy in game 2, which was a warm day, and our guys were falling and mishandling the puck left and right. I certainly hope the ice crew is working overtime right now.
Ted – I remember last year the ice wasn’t perfect for the playoffs and it was blamed for some of their struggles in that series. With the super hot DC weather this week, is anything being done to ensure that the playing surface is best for the home town skilled players as opposed to the visiting bruisers? Thanks for everything you’ve done for this franchise, and this town! Go Caps!
Just don’t let him sit behind the Rangers’ bench!. He might get a water bottle to head!
I’d like to see the president at a Caps game as much as anyone, but a potential elimination game (for any team) sounds like a bad idea . . . wait until the next Game 1!
And if you come out and they lose, then you can’t come out again until the jinx is broken.
Just don’t let him sit behind the Rangers bench, he might get a wrong first impression of the game.
