Teddy, As a retired NYC Detective, I find the statements by the Polk County Sheriff’s Department to be totally irresponsible and unprofessional. But quite frankly I am not surprised as I have had some dealings with them in the past myself. They were lazy, careless and arrogant. The fact is PERPS do lie!!!!!

The Polk County Sheriff clearly has been grandstanding on this. It was totally irresponsible to mention the Caps and Nats without any proof. His senatational approach to this bust was also clear during the Toronto Leafs Lunch radio interview when he listed all of firearms found, but in all probability they were not illegal at all. How unfortunate that this has happened because the stigma will always be there even if the Caps are totally exonerated.

Shame, shame on the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for its unprofessional conduct. Repeating unsubstantiated bragging by a defendant without a care to the truthfulness of the allegations and impact on others. Looks like publicity is more important than investigating the truthfulness of the allegations. There was no need for the sheriff to publicly repeat those allegations. I do not believe these allegations and I commend the Caps and the NHL on its response.

geez! too bad about all the negative drama. somehow if (and I mean if) our guys wanted to buy steroids or any other drugs for that matter, why would they need to go to florida????? i mean with all the drugs readily available right in DC. in fact, baltimore is right up the road, and is kind of a mecca for drugs. so why would they go to florida???? sounds like some morons wanted thier 15 minutes if you ask me.

I think that the Polk County Police acted irresponsibly when they threw out the Caps and Nationals names during the press conference. Unless they had hard evidence about the teams, nothing should have been said. It creates problems for both organizations.
