I Will Never Forget Tank Man – Will You?

I was so very moved by this act of courage by “Tank Man” 20 years ago. Click here to see the Wiki on him and the famous photo that moved the world.

I have always wondered what happened to Tank Man. What fate awaited him? Freedom? Jail? Execution?

I always thought that Tank Man would make for a great subject for a documentary film. Was this NOT one of the bravest acts you could imagine?

Here is a show from PBS on Tank Man that I just found. Check it out.

I love the Chinese people but it is hard to believe that 20 years after the fact, the Chinese government won’t reveal facts on who died in this incident or who is jailed and have shut down Twitter and Facebook and many search services.  They have closed down Tiananmen Square as well. They are basically trying to white out this time in history.

Watch this video. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago this week.

The more things change, the more things stay the same. Never forget Tank Man!

  1. It was a very sad thing that he did…. I am very proud of him i would of not done that he is a very strange but not scared man.

  2. It was very moving and sad – and also did you have a similar feeling was it a year or two ago when the Burmese government cracked down on the Buddhist monks? People just want their freedom!
