Kurt Cobain Said, “I was Just Trying to Rip Off The Pixies.”

And see why for yourself. The Pixies are an important and very influential band with a very smart sound. Check them out for yourself on SnagFilms with loudQUIETloud, a very well made film about their life and times. Click here to watch the film and hear their collective voices. Good weekend watching.

  1. Sam says:

Whatever the original inspiration, I’m glad Kurt made music. He’s sorely missed.

  2. Scott says:

The pixies never really fit the 4AD sound. I think they must have been influenced by Wire (late 70’s post punk) But I never knew that Cobain said that. It all makes sense now.

  3. Jimmy Jazz says:

Cobain couldn’t shine Frank Black’s shoes.

Frank Black and Kim Deal had amazing chemistry. Surfer Rosa, Doolittle, Bossanova, Come On Pilgrim… The absolute best the genre has to offer.

  4. Nathan Hays says:

I always find myself agreeing with Jimmy Jazz. I’ve got no beef with Cobain, but the Pixies are unbeatable in their genre. Easily one of my top 3 bands. I own this documentary, and I think it’s great that it’s on Snag now.

Frank Black still makes great music.
