Hockey Folks

I met Mike Knuble and his wife the other day at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. He is a very nice man; a family man; a true veteran presence; and a big strong guy. He looks like a hockey player and he talks like a hockey player. He will be a welcomed addition to our team and our community. We have offered to help his family assimilate well into our community and we are here to serve him and his wife.

Almost all of the players in the NHL are truly great people. They understand the ultimate goal we all share – to win a Stanley Cup. They are all about team; team dynamics; and a healthy respect for their coach and the fan base. These folks are modest, focused, mature and love the game.

Mike was very impressed by our culture of excellence; our team’s upward growth path; our fan base and how passionate you all have become; and all the great young players we have on our team. He mentioned Ovechkin, Semin, Green, Backstrom and Varlamov by name to me. He understands his role on our team and is looking forward to helping us meet all of our goals.

We are able now to attract great free agents. We have a thriving community to live in; a wonderful fan base and a sold out building; a winning and improving team intent on excellence; a great practice facility; and an overall aura of a team that can compete and win a Stanley Cup. We have come a long way in the last five years. We appreciate all of your kind thoughts and best wishes. Welcome Mike Knuble and his family to DC and Verizon Center. He will improve our team. 1. If you want to know what type of guy Knuble is then go to the Flyers website and read what their fans are saying about him – according to the Flyer fans, Knuble is a class-act – a real stand-up guy that the fans love. Flyers fans showing love – never thought I’d see that happen.

    Great addition for our team.

  2. Ted: I think Knuble and B-Mo are two great pickups. I was sad we weren’t able to give Federov the kind of deal that would have enabled him to end his career here in DC but it wasn’t going to happen and it wouldn’t have worked. Of course I now have a Caps – Feds – 91 Sweater that isn’t signed (kicking myslef for not trying to get it autographed during a practice this past season)… Anyway if I don’t want to wear it to games I now have 3 “Rock the Red” type of T’s to wear and I was thinking of going to an upolstary shop and getting some crazy red fabric to have made into a Don Cherry like Blazer to wear the next time he chides Ovie..

I babble – sorry – but thanks again for the two great offseason pickups and the great product on and off the ice…

    LETS GO CAPS!!!

  3. Ted, I trusted you all along and you have (almost) delivered. We are very, very close. Thank you!

  5. Caps fans love this deal and Mike sounds perfect for our team’s needs. When are we going to hear from the other Morrison?

  6. Knuble was one of three Flyers I HATED to see on the ice.. he made stuff happen that sometimes made our D look young and extremely inexperienced… I hated him for that…

Now, I’m thrilled that we’ll be the ones cheering him on to rush the net at any cost – and other teams’ fans will be dreading the fact that he’s on the ice and about to make something BIG happen.

Looking forward to meeting him at the Convention in September!!
