Wow

So Mike Green was a First Team All NHL All-Star along side Zdeno Chara. He was second in the Norris Trophy voting. He had a historic season scoring more consecutive goals than any D man in NHL history. His plus/minus rating was in the 50′s. He scored more than 30 goals and he missed more than a dozen games with injury. He played hurt and he didn’t complain.

He is all about team. He is considered one of the young stars in our league. He and Alex BOTH made First Team All Stars in the entire NHL this season. He made the World Cup All Star team too. He is 24 years old.

Yet some folks who are our fans disrespect him. Check out this thread on our message boards. A friend sent me this link with a note and said “Tough Room!” I have to agree. This headline and thread made some people take notice.

Let No Good Deed Go Unpunished

So I am at the beach. I wake up and get a nice cup of hot coffee. I get the newspapers and am on my way to relax and slowly wake up. As I walk by the side door, I see a baby lizard. It is stressed. It wants to get out. So I gently open the door and I move my feet to corner the lizard and gently push it out the door. I open the door and the lizard runs out. I smile and all of a sudden, a HUGE frog leaps on me and jumps right into my coffee cup! It freaks me out. The coffee goes plop and all over the floor, all over my shirt. Ouch – it is HOT! I drop the cup and it breaks in multiple pieces. The frog jumps away and is now somewhere in my home.

So now I have no coffee. I am cleaning up spilled coffee all over the floor and broken glass. I have to change my shirt. I have a burn on my hand and next I am on a frog hunt before our puppy gets up and goes nuts chasing it.

All I wanted to do is be nice to a baby lizard. What a way to start the day! Let no good deed go unpunished! I hope your day gets off to a better start than mine.
