In Chicago

This should be an interesting day. I am in Chicago and come back after the NHL Owners meeting. Click here to see today’s agenda. I always enjoy these meetings and getting together with other NHL team owners. We compare notes; work with the league offices; and discuss the present and future state of the game and our league. I bet today will be an informative day with a dynamic set of presentations for us all to consider. Wish us luck.

  1. Enjoy the Windy City Ted! It’s my hometown. Love that town, especially a certain Northside baseball team that is in a battle for first place right now, yes the Cubbies. :)

  2. Hopefully, the owners (sans the one who shall not be named) shall discuss officiating in the Playoffs and real or perceived favoritism towards one eastern conference team from Western Pennsylvania in particular. Hopefully the owners (sans the one who shall not be named) shall discuss ways to curtail boorish behavior of one eastern conference team from Western Pennsylvania’s fans while they are visitors. Hopefully, the owners (sans the one who shall not be named) shall discuss how to see that rules such as fighting majors in the final five minutes of a playoff game shall be applied equally to all teams and shall not be overlooked when committed by the star players on one eastern conference team from Western Pennsylvania. Hopefully, the owners (sans the one who shall not be named) shall discuss re-evaluating making one eastern conference team from Western Pennsylvania the poster child for the league to the detriment of all other teams. Hopefully, the owners (sans the one who shall not be named) shall assert that they are the majority and shall not be hindered to the benefit of a single team from the eastern conference that is based out of Western Pennsylvania. After the league stands up and acts as a business rather than a welfare agency for one eastern conference team from Western Pennsylvania, I’ll sit on my balcony and count the pigs that fly past.

  3. As long as John McDonough from the Blackhawks isn’t involved it will be a very productive day. Ted, I trust that your years of being a successful businessman help you identify phonies like McDonough a mile away. Best to you and the Capitals in 09/10. JGH

  4. Good luck Ted. With Ballsilie coming to make a presentation, you’re gonna need it.
