Joe Casella Obituary

Click here for Joe Casella’s obituary. Yesterday’s services were wonderful, warm and family-oriented. Lots of tears were shed. A lot of memories were exchanged. Many hugs and embraces were shared. So many good times were recounted and so many warm words were uttered about Joe and his entire extended family.

To all our friends, please keep going to Elite Fitness Concepts. We need your support and please stay tuned for ways that you can help the Casella family. Thank you so much.

Happy Birthday indieWIRE

IndieWIRE turns 13 years old this week. I remember them when they were a newsletter delivered via AOL mail. Yes, I am THAT old.

Now they are the number one source of all things that celebrate indie film and documentaries. Here is a great article by Eugene Hernandez about indieWIRE and its past, present and future. Check it out by clicking here. Eugene is the most beloved editor in this field and the hardest working man in show biz!

One Billion Ways to Say Thank You

Please see the news release below that announces a new SummerFest set of programming, a new set of films to be only found online on SnagFilms and the news that we have reached – in one year - in total 1 BILLION plus pages where our virtual widgets can be found. Thank you to all of you that watched films on SnagFilms and snagged a film and embedded it on your website or blog or personal page. Thanks for supporting filmmakers and their mission-based causes. You are all “filmanthropists” now!

Adding to the Core and More

I hope you can come out to Kettler Capitals Iceplex and enjoy seeing some of our young draftees and prospects practice and eventually play a game later in the week.

You will enjoy their energy and their passion for the game. Practices are always free and it is cool inside with lots of your friends in attendance.

We are all excited about the development of John Carlson as just one example. Click here to see the article in the Washington Post. He is maturing and getting bigger and stronger and has an edge to his game coupled with great skating abilities and a good shot. He played for Dale Hunter in juniors so his game should also be entertaining and he is learning to play the right way with respect and grit. Dale will actually be at our practice today as well. It always makes for a fun time when Dale is in the house. We think John one day can be a top 4 D man on our team.
