Picks:
- Man on Wire - Just watched this Academy Award winner. What a fantastic documentary. Get it today on DVD.
- The Soloist - A bit grumpy but wonderful acting, a heart wrenching film based on a true story just out on DVD.
- This issue of Newsweek. Great writing on crime; serial murderers and a great first person story about growing up with a drug dealing father. Very powerful stuff.
- Bangkok Haunts – John Burdett does it again. A fast thriller of a read.
Pans:
- G.I. Joe – Don’t go. Yikes. $100 plus million for that? Looked like mid ’60′s puppet animation with the worst screenplay imaginable. What were they thinking?
- Time Magazine cover story on exercise – What were they trying to say? Don’t exercise? I didn’t get it. Why a cover story on that subject? Weird choice.
Whenever I see the commercial for G.I. Joe, all I can think about is how stupid it looks like the movie would be. Thanks for confirming that.
