Are you kidding me? Daily dosage of aspirin is harmful; we are now called the “worried well” because we listened to our doctors?; geesh — tens of millions of dollars are spent every week promoting aspirin’s usage for people who are middle aged to prevent heart attacks; doctors tell us to take an aspirin daily.
Whoops — now a study says that is all BS; read this article asap; no one knows nothing; this is crazy. Who to believe — what to believe?
Teddy, The “worried well” take aspirin because they have probably been instructed to do so by their doctors who own stock in the drug companies or maybe it’s as simple as the docs are having diner with the sales reps. Who to believe–What to believe that’s the story of life! Rock the Red. Lets Go Caps!!
Nothing always works:
Many years ago I saw a bit on the news about a man who, per the conventional wisdom, did it all wrong – ate tons of red meat, didn’t exercise, smoked two packs of cigarettes a day, and drank like a Caps fan – he was celebrating his 103rd birthday that day.
Also – the Spanish (Catalan) composer Federico Mompou did not go to bed till 03.00 and only got 3hr of sleep a night (now I know Spaniards are legendary night owls but…) – he lived to be 94.
For my part, I’m a heavy aspirin user of nearly 40 years’ standing (usually in Excedrin which also contains paracetamol [acetaminophen], about which many health experts have a whole battery of warnings as well) – 56 years young and still going strong.
I think one can die a lot sooner from reading too many medical journals and watching too many ‘health experts’ on the telly or internet – one can worry oneself to death. Life is for living.
The best strategy is to use commom sense. Stay authentic. Want to be healthy? Eat healthy food and exersise.
Always been under the belief if you can avoid putting drugs in your system don’t unless you really need it.
