Kudos to President Sarkozy.
We need to stimulate our people’s happiness, contentment and self-actualization. Our Government is still too focused on “money for nothing”. Quality of life; hopes and dreams; and purpose are also needed to become balanced and happier as a nation and as a people.
We do need a call to arms for a better life. It isn’t just about money! Money doesn’t buy happiness. Take the poll within.
Here, here! And opportunities for creative expression are critical but largely absent for many people in the US. Whether or not the adopters realize it, would you agree that a huge pent-up demand for opportunities for creative expression are drivers behind such phenomena as blogging, tweeting, & FB?
I agree, kudos to Sarkozy. His point reminds me of a survey I anecdotally heard about: People were asked how much more money they needed to achieve the “American Dream”. No matter how much money they made, $20,000 per year, $50,000 per year, $100,000 per year, $500,000 per year etc. almost all respondents universally responded with an average of double THEIR current income. Happiness comes down to WHO you know, and HOW you interact with them. You don’t need a lot of money to do be successful at that.
