Cool New Place

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

My family and I dined at a great new place called Cava. It is on 8th Street in DC behind the Capitol Building. It is the best little new restaurant we have found of late.

The atmosphere was casual and cool. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. The food was spectacular. We ordered and tasted about one dozen little plates: A unique Greek salad; Greek pizza; and lamb sliders. The chef is very creative. The food is healthy. The plates are tasty and it is served in a unique fashion.

We live in such a great city. Places like this deserve our support. It was packed and buzzing last night and deservedly so. I shall return. You should check it out if you live in DC. Five stars from me!

Caps Convention

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

I”m on my way to do one of my favorite things - mingle with 5,000 of my closest and best friends - fans of the Washington Capitals. I am so looking forward to our first Capitals Convention.

We will learn a lot. We will share a lot. We will have a lot of fun with staff, fans, players, league officials and media.

Bringing together this big community of interest and having some fun is my goal today.

To the 5,000 of you who believed this was a good new innovative idea, thank you for your support.

I am sure we will have some kinks to iron out in this convention format. We will listen to our fans and make it better and better over the years. But I see no risk in bringing together our communities all in one place and time. This should be a positive, happy day. I am excited. Go Caps!

And Iran - Iran So Far Away

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Iran is certainly in the news now. It looks like a place from another time and space. We don’t understand it, do we?

Here is a film that will get you centered. It shows the history of film and media in Iran. It discusses its arts and it its people. This film brings us back to reality. Watch it and breathe out deeply.
