Jinxed

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

We are now officially “jinxed”.

These posts are so well written and so nice but exactly the wrong things to think at the wrong time. Read them here.

We play Philly, Detroit and San Jose plus the Rangers and the Devils in a ten day period.

We could be 2-5 in 15 days of the first month of the season. We wouldn’t look like a great team. The media will be writing “What is wrong with the Capitals?”

Signing Alex to a long term extension was a great sign of our progress as a franchise and having depth and lots of scoring options is yet another sign of our development. But potential is just potential until you reach your goals.

I don’t compare us to any great Stanley Cup winning team. We haven’t won anything yet. Don’t jinx us. We can’t read this stuff. We have to be honest with ourselves. We have only won a division championship twice as a unit. We have won one playoff series in ten years. We have miles to go before we sleep. We ain’t that good. I am not just saying that to be humble. We haven’t done anything yet. I don’t want us to be set up for a letdown or to think we are better than we are. Thanks for the great writing here but calm down. :-)

Allow Me To Gloat One More Time

IMDB just updated its awards section on Nanking as a film. I received an alert via email.

Nanking was nominated for 10 awards and won 5 awards including a “Best Of” at Sundance; a Peabody Award; an Emmy Award; a Humanitarian Award; and Best Documentary Award as well.

Not bad for my first foray into filmmaking. I am so honored. See this list. Thank you to our directors; writers; producers; actors and everyone involved in this project.

We Don’t Want Bad Karma

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Read this article. What do you think?

Make a division championship banner raising have more celebration or play it more modestly?

We have done both. I am fine either way but what do you think? Let me know.
