Allow Me To Gloat One More Time

IMDB just updated its awards section on Nanking as a film. I received an alert via email.

Nanking was nominated for 10 awards and won 5 awards including a “Best Of” at Sundance; a Peabody Award; an Emmy Award; a Humanitarian Award; and Best Documentary Award as well.

Not bad for my first foray into filmmaking. I am so honored. See this list. Thank you to our directors; writers; producers; actors and everyone involved in this project.

  1. Ted,

Should you decide on another project you might want to look to Massachusetts for the film site. New studio in Plymouth an two films just shot in Lowell (Invention of Lying is out now and The Fighter about Mickey Ward was shot this summer). You’ll recognize several of the scenes.

BTW … love your hockey team!

  2. I loved it, thanks for permission to use it in my teaching classes. It got the students engaged and they asked a lot of questions, allowing me to “fully” explain Sino-Japanese relations in the 20th century. Normally, that topic would just seem off to younger students, but the movie theme (after studying the Holocaust and visiting the Holocaust Museum) got them hooked and interested to learn more about Asia. A favorite question I got each time was “how come we never heard about this before?”

  3. WOW, Ted you are a historian that moves people. **** My boyfriend is German and I am French and we have these heated arguments about our anscestors. Your film is one that is actually amazing; breathtaking. made us both cry and really take moments after to reflect and talk about “YOUR MOVIE”. Thank You, sir!
