  1. Nice article. Caps still are weak in goal and the blueline. Theodore has his confidence back, but Varlamov is a flopping goalie who is weak on his positioning and wanders too far out. He’s not as good as the city thinks he is. When his reactions begin to fade, he’s history fast, unless he fundamentally changes his style. The blueliners still have a way to go, and allow too many forwards to camp around the crease. Of late, the powerplay has seemed strangely passive. I’m not sanguine about our prospects this year. That’s not based on the slow start; the Caps always start slowly. It’s based on observed weaknesses on the ice. However, my hope lies in the best front office in the area.

  2. Teddy, Your quote “It’s not how you start but how you finish”. I have faith. Rock the Red. Lets Go Caps!!

  3. Hard to believe that you’ve owned the Caps for 10, now 11 seasons. Thanks for your candor and for sharing this well written blog.

  4. Good post. Seems like a lot of the media (and maybe some teams) are in panic mode.

It’s only the middle of October, kids. Lots of new players on different teams. New coaching methods, and so forth.

Let the season play out, and enjoy the games, instead of worrying about playoff spots.
