As many of you know, all of the banks and government agencies were closed yesterday and many of our local public schools as well.
It was a day of celebration in our Nation’s Capital. It was officially a proclamation to make the day Washington Capitals Day. Thank you DC City Council. We were honored to attend and Jack Evans - I shall always treasure your bobble head as a gift. It will be in my front seat of my car and I shall use it to shield myself from speeding tickets now. DC Police beware!
Every citizen in the community was mandated by law to wear red as well. And to rock it.
If you are a Capitals season ticket holder, there are now no taxes to be paid in the District, either. Read all about this here.
It pays to be a Washington Capitals fan in DC. Go Caps!

Hi Ted,
I’m a DC transplant living in Baltimore, and I love hearing about how DC is embracing the Caps wholeheartedly.
Baltimore has a history of hating on DC, but there seems to be some rumblings of true Capitals fans here. Do you have anything planned to market to Baltimore? It couldn’t hurt to have a buffer city in between DC and Philly!
I celebrated by voting for Bob McDonnell! Talk about Rocking the Red!
I rather enjoyed the motorcade, myself.
…is all this real? No taxes in the District for Caps season ticket holders? Kidding right? “And, if you wear a CAPS shirt to work on Friday, you get to leave at 11 a;-j
Congratulations Ted, CAPS, and us! jeff lee
