Where is the Berlin Wall now?

I have a framed small remnant of the Wall in my home office, a great reminder of what democracy means to us all.

Here is a film about the Berlin Wall from PBS on SnagFilms.com. Watch this hour long film and share it with your children. The Cold War wasn’t that long ago. A wall of this nature could be constructed again somewhere. As our President said, “Tear down your wall!” and they did. A wonderful memory. Amazing that it happened only 20 years ago. Watch and learn.

Wow. According to official NHL reports, the Washington Capitals are ranked 6th in the NHL in terms of paid admissions for the season to date. Only one US-based team is ahead of us. The top four are all Canadian teams. We are up almost 6 percent year over year.

We have arrived. I think we have a chance to be the top paid admissions team in the NHL for US-based clubs. Thank you Caps fans. You rock! Your support is most appreciated. Go Caps!

VPP - Venture Philanthropy Partners - is a terrific organization chartered with venture capitalizing local charities as if they were start-up businesses.

Two of my partners in our sports teams, Raul Fernandez and Jack Davies, have been the driving forces behind it along with Senator Mark Warner and the “Godfather” Mario Marino.

I am an investor in VPP and a cheerleader but Raul and Jack should get the acclaim. It is their baby. This is a very important effort being led many local business and philanthropy leaders. Check them out.
