Boffo!!!!!!

Wow. According to official NHL reports, the Washington Capitals are ranked 6th in the NHL in terms of paid admissions for the season to date. Only one US-based team is ahead of us. The top four are all Canadian teams. We are up almost 6 percent year over year.

We have arrived. I think we have a chance to be the top paid admissions team in the NHL for US-based clubs. Thank you Caps fans. You rock! Your support is most appreciated. Go Caps!

  1. The credit goes to you Ted. You’ve provided the market with a sports entertainment product that I actually feel good about spending money on. Wish you could buy the club leve though. It is in need of an upgrade badly.

  2. That is a nice stat, but like +/- I don’t know if it’s 100% satisfying. Also the pessimistic side of me wants to edit the post so that support = money, but hey I am happy to pay to watch these guys play. Go Caps!

  3. No organization is perfect, and we can disagree on many things, but one thing I can congratulate you on Ted is filling the building for every game. I can honestly say that I never thought I would see this day unless the team won multiple cups. Sure Ovie helps a lot, but a great job of marketing and selling this team to new fans. Washington DC a hockey town. WOW! Jimmy the Greek never saw this coming.

  4. This is a good thing?

Isn’t that kind of like being proud that DC has the highest cost of living?

  5. When Fans are looking (in drives) to buy scare tickets instead of looking for free tickets, which were much easier to come by 4 years ago, your statement that, “We have arrived”, carries mega-weight!

Congratulations to all of ownership for their steadfast efforts to make Washington hockey-worthy.

  6. Teddy, That’s GREAT!! I went to a pregame at the Garden and I took NJ transit in. You would have been quite pleased to see how many Cap Fans there were. We all started talking to each other, it was a mini Washington Capitals Convention!! My husband and I are going to see The Caps vs the devils at the Prudential Center in NJ. My new Ovechkin jersey arrived so I will be in style!!! And I am going to see if I can borrow my friends cow bell again. We will be Rocking the Red! Lets Go Caps!!!!

  7. WOW! That is impressive, congrats Ted (as I pat myself on the back for doing my part). Now just tell Ovie not to joke with anymore reports about injuries, my whole morning wasa bit grey thinking we might be without him for over a month. I mean he is going to need at least 70 games to score 82 goals this year.
