Another Road Win – Another Injury

Alex is back. He scores on his first shot on goal in his return.

Matt Bradley rocks. Way to go, Matt!

Quintin Laing is hurt - a broken jaw - yikes. That hurts and that is such a shame.

It was another road game, a good win and another two points. We are back to first place in the East. We have the second most points in the NHL right now. We have miles to go before we sleep but getting a big win on the road last night and having Alex Ovechkin return has got to bring a smile to some of your faces. It does to mine. Go Caps!

  1. i do not believe anyone will ever agree with me and this may be a touch surprising coming from old school guy…but i look forward to mandatory full face protection for the players. in the alternative, and this will never happen either, the players need to keep their sticks down, pucks down, elbows down etc…in the old days players were much more aware of and had respect for other players heads. The speed and of today’s game and size of theplayers makes it almost impossible to avoid head/face injuries. The nhl needs to make changes asap— no more hits to the head..stiff penalties are needed!

  2. I’ve always thought highly of Matt Bradley, a crying shame for Laing. Shame other people do not think they play as hard as they do, the camera isn’t always on them, and they aren’t superstars, but they are stard under the radar that deliver.

  3. There are so many tangibles that QL brings when he is on the ice that will be hard to cover with his absence. Get well soon!

Bradley was huge last night! Nice scrap, nice goal!

Welcome back Alex… Any news on the Nylander situation?

  4. Poor Quintin, first Swine Flu, now a broken jaw. This guy can not get a break. Hopefully he gets better soon. Glad we have such a strong team here and in Hershey that no matter who is missing we can get the 2 points.

  5. It really is great to have Alex back but it was nice to see so many guys step up while he was out. We truly are the Washington Capitals and not the Ovechkin Capitals.

And I agree with Jennifer about Laing. I love the effort he puts out every game he plays. I think his name will be on the next jersey I buy. Hope he has a speedy recovery!

  6. Laing has been a BEAST on the ice for us. His presence will definitely be missed while he’s out. I look forward to the day where he, and other guys up from Hershey are no longer “call ups” but on our regular roster.

Mega props to the Hershey Connection!!
