Our Number 1 Fan

I so enjoyed meeting our number 1 fan last night — such a brave young kid — and a gifted hockey player to boot. His parents are such warm and supportive and wonderful folks; all of our partners loved hanging out with them during the game in the owners box.

Feel blessed every day — enjoy your life — this young man is an inspiration to us all; Go Caps. Rocking the hawk! Click here to see the video.

Homeless Karaoke

Sing my bothers — sing it loud.

A beautiful film — humanizing us all. Give us 8 minutes of your time — we will take you far away — you will experience a different and new world, end homelessness — feed the poor. In our own hometown.

Watch this beautiful short film; it will brighten your day — and humanize our brothers and sisters a bit less fortunate than ourselves at this particular time.

Back To Back — Ouch!

A tough schedule is upon us. We will be very short handed; we need to gut it out and play tonight and remain focused on playing tough — smart team oriented hockey.

We are all very proud of the team for its performance and win last night — that was one heck of a “gutty” performance. Losing two first team NHL All-stars — and several important role players and getting two points on the road is a wonderful show of heart and determination. Continue reading

Farther Than The Eye Can See

Here is a great film — an inspirational film — a film about over coming great odds — to scale the highest summits.

I have met Erik — he was a key note speaker at an AOL all hands meeting; he is an amazing person — an amazing athlete.

Check this out — if he can do this — you can do anything you set your mind on.  Go for it! Watch this film now — snag it and embed it — share it with your friends.

Happy Now?

I believe in the law of unintended consequences.

When the government went on its jihad against corporate travel and perk excess — it would create lots of bad ripples in the travel — tourist based economies.  It would hurt tax payers — not help taxpayers. It would hurt hotels; airlines — theme parks — casinos — dining establishments — credit and charge card companies.  Who would it help?  Politicians that get air time for saying optically correct things; without understanding the unintended consequences of their media stances.

So — here you go — check out this terrific work and the top 20 unemployed communities in America.

I was shocked to see that more than a dozen cities were in just California and Florida; with Las Vegas too — that made for the bulk of the cities.  Sad to say — Detroit is number 1 — in unemployment.

But Miami?  Tampa? San Francisco? San Diego? Orlando? Las Vegas?

Happy now?

Get out there and travel this holiday season — have some family fun — stimulate the economy.  The world is still on sale.

Baseball Season Is Over

Yankees win; Yankees win; money can buy happiness.  In this one instance.

But — if you miss baseball — watch this new film on Snagfilms.com; tour the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Cooperstown.  Awesome Americana.

We have been there — done that — it was a spectacular day — and will love this film — get a virtual tour of the Baseball Hall of Fame Museum — by clicking here.

His All Holiness and VP Biden

I was unable to watch the Capitals game last night–although I was getting texts with score updates throughout the night.

My wife and I were invited to an event at Vice President Biden’s home — with His All Holiness Bartholomew I.

It was a very special night for us — Bartholomew is the leader of the Orthodox Church on a global basis; he is a holy man — he is also called the “Green Archbishop” as he has been an outspoken critic of polluters of our planet for many years.

Lynn and I were honored to be able to spend quality time with VP Biden; his wife — Dr Biden; and the Biden family; I also was ” blessed” personally by Bartholomew and I mentioned Alex Ovechkin to him; and there was a special prayer offered in his name as well!

While it was a wonderful night — and I feel blessed — the Caps did lose and I did learn that our VP is a Flyers fan.  I was tempted to start the DC based chant about the Flyers — but bit my tongue.  Not the right venue at all:-).

Here is information on Bartholomew I.  A most impressive and great man, indeed.

And How Did You Spend Yesterday, Washington Capitals Day?

As many of you know, all of the banks and government agencies were closed yesterday and many of our local public schools as well.

It was a day of celebration in our Nation’s Capital. It was officially a proclamation to make the day Washington Capitals Day. Thank you DC City Council. We were honored to attend and Jack Evans - I shall always treasure your bobble head as a gift. It will be in my front seat of my car and I shall use it to shield myself from speeding tickets now. DC Police beware!

Every citizen in the community was mandated by law to wear red as well. And to rock it.

If you are a Capitals season ticket holder, there are now no taxes to be paid in the District, either. Read all about this here.

It pays to be a Washington Capitals fan in DC. Go Caps! :-)
