When I heard the news early that fateful morning, I pulled off the side of the road and cried. I loved John Lennon. I couldn’t believe he was dead, shot and killed.
Here is a wonderful piece on that tragic day and a wonderful film embed on the life and times of a great artist and a really cool musician. Watch the movie. Remember greatness. He is still missed to this day.

I’ll never forget when I heard Howard Cosell’s report of that fateful moment live on Monday Night Football. His last words were right on the money. “Hard to go back to the game after that news flash.”

RIP Walrus.
I remember that night well too. I was driving home from my high school’s hockey team practice that night at Wells Rink in College Park and heard the news on DC101. It’s always surreal when you get news like that. Much the same for Len Bias’ death, which I heard on the radio while on the Beltway.
a question i have posed on social networking apps. recently; to all - what do you think it was, what catalyst, enabled and encouraged John Lennon to share himself with the world and become the man murdered in manhattan?
a recent follow i have been asking myself - why was John Lennon slain? Why? What motivated that man go to New York and sabotage his own life, to end his own life, in order to murder-kill-rob the human race of; John Lennon? Why did that man do this thing? Why? Why? Why? Why? Not in the grand scheme of things. This man. What were HIS reasons why. The answers are not abstract. They exist. What are they?
What do you think?
Is this important?
Imagine.

Was looking for a specific Hemingway quote to end; found these two; among others. Will get other quote. It’s good.
“For sale: Baby clothes, never used.”
As legend has it, Ernest Hemingway was asked if he knew the shortest story in the English
language. He is said to have answered: “For sale: Baby clothes, never used.”

Wiki-text
“A suicide note was found that said, in part, “I haven’t felt the excitement of listening to as well as creating music, along with really writing . . . for too many years now”. A high concentration of heroin and traces of Valium were also found in his body. Cobain’s body had been lying there for days; the coroner’s report estimated Cobain to have died on April 5, 1994,”

I was reading the interview with John and Yoko in the Playboy that had just arrived that afternoon, with Monday Night Football as background noise. I have never felt so sad, before or since. -JW
