This was a very tough stretch of games on the road being short-handed. We have lost a lot of man games to injury. We have traveled a lot of miles.
We still have a strange road trip coming up. Flying back out west to play San Jose and LA over New Year’s break but we do get to spend some time at home to wash clothes; re-bond with family and friends; do holiday shopping and get some healing and rest in; overcome jet lag; and try to win some home games.
We are pretty well positioned. We have the third most points in the NHL. We have the most points ever for a Caps team at this point in season and we are starting to regain our overall health as a team.
Playing 13 of 17 games on the road was punishing but as a great man once said, “What doesn’t kill us makes you stronger.”
I am proud of our team and organization.
Now let us all hope for “no first game back from a long road trip let down” tomorrow night! Go Caps!
I got to see the Caps in Denver and was amazed by the number of Caps fans at the Pepsi Center. There were young kids Rockin’ the Red in Ovechkin sweaters and old guys in their 1980′s era swag. It was awesome to see!
Hey Ted,
Well said I think the boy’s are going to come out firing tonight. These points they are earning now will go a long way in March and April. We are planning on seeing the team play in January. We can’t wait we love the Caps and the and Verizon Center.
Take Care and Happy Holidays
