See this article and get the tour of their facilities. Nice work here.
I love this company; its business model; its people; and I am honored to serve on its Board of Directors. I also love going to Chicago for these board meetings. They are outside of the group think in NYC and the Valley and operate in a very efficient and innovative manner.

Dear Mr. Leonsis,
I’ve enjoyed the fun (and the deals) on groupon a lot. I’ve also been impressed by how responsive the staff is with respect to the offers. Pretty neat trick to apply the group purchasing organization model to actually benefit consumers directly, rather than just businesses.
I do have one concern though. Given that the model often focuses on deals from relatively small local businesses (a positive), the limiting factor here is the capacity of the business/vendor itself to handle a sudden influx of hundreds (or in some cases, thousands) of customers, particularly where the offer involves a personal service that must be provided by a human being. If the consumer experiences frustration actually accessing the good or service at the business, there is risk to the good will associated with the model. Best of luck picking your offers carefully, and consider pushing the vendors for realistic quantity limits. And don’t get greedy with respect to administrative fees from vendors.
Finally, how about a groupon deal at the Kettler Pro Shop on Caps jerseys (subject, of course, to NHL licensing limts)?!
I signed up for this when you blogged about it and have already bought one Groupon. It’s a clever idea that I think will not only catch on, but spawn imitators too.
I love Groupon! I’ve gotten some great deals, from restaurants to spa massages to custom photo books, all at great discounts. A lot of variety, too. Glad you are on the board, Ted!
i am a member but have never found a discount worth taking advantage of – i guess it is all about timing… didn’t know you were involved – now i will pay more attention
