Mr. Leonsis, we truly hope that you will eventually take over the Washington basketball franchise and I think the easiest way for you to start building back the trust of the fanbase is to implement the plan you did for the Capitals.
I recently re-read your Ten Point Plan for Rebuilding and by that alone I got a burst of energy and hope for our poor basketball team. I find great similarities in the situation the basketball team is in now and where the Caps where when you decided to start over.
This city trusts you and will follow you because you have proven to be a man of your word.
I hope that we will start to see changes for the basketball team in the new year and if it just so happens that a new color scheme comes with that and perhaps a name change to something that rhymes with pullets you’d have an entire city excited again as Andrew mentioned above.
Hypothetically, if you were to own a local NBA team would you return the colors and mascot back to their origins like you have done with the Capitals? Not only would you re-invigorate a fan base but the color schemes for both basketball and hockey teams would match which can help marketing as well as the atmosphere for a rabid basketball city like D.C.
