The Hershey Bears are winners of twelve games in a row with a record of 29-8-2. They are playing the best they have ever played.
We are so proud of this franchise. We are so proud of how “simpatico” we are with the folks in Hershey. Congratulations to them for the system they run; the expectations they place on their personnel; and how they develop our young talent. Bears. Bears. Bears. Whooooooo! What an awesome season so far. Go Bears!

I had the pleasure of interviewing the Bears Captain, Bryan Helmer, during the summer. He is a great representative for the organization - a true leader and a class act! The Bears and the Capitals are the teams to beat in the AHL and NHL. Great job everyone and congrats on 12 in a row!
Can you please lock up a long term affiliation with this team? Where else can prospects play in front of 10,000 screaming fans?
As high as my expectations for the big club are this season (I would be a little bummed if we aren’t in the final round for the East and I don’t see us not being in the mix for the Cup), the thing that makes me really optimistic about the organization as a whole is the huge talent pool we have to draw upon that is coming up from Hershey and South Carolina. My brother and I are thinking about taking a road trip up to PA to check them out in person and hopefully get a good look at Carlson.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for recognizing the Bears. I have been a big fan for only five years, but now love hockey and both the Caps and Bears. They are a great team to follow and, being a member of the Booster Club, I know they are also great young men. I agree with Comment #2 — let’s have a long-term affiliation between the Caps and Bears.
The Hershey experience is wonderful. Last year, we attended about 20 games, including 7 playoff games. We have Caps season tickets, and when our guys aren’t playing on a weekend, we go up to Hershey.
What a great atmosphere. The Bears are unequivocaly the class franchise of the AHL - their lead in league attendance is huge. In addition, they have a superb radio voice in John Walton.
Let’s get John Carlson down to Verizon to be recognized for his achievements last week.
Teddy, TWELVE games in a row! Wow, that is remarkable. Many moons ago, my son went to a hockey camp there and we went to a Bears games. We had a memorable family weekend. So, Is hockey the business of happiness!
Well done, Bears! An outstanding on-ice product, a great arena, enthusiastic crowds, lots of promotions for the kids, seeing future Caps stars, and an easy drive from DC. No wonder more and more Caps fans are heading up to Hershey to catch Bears games. And Braden Holtby is coming on strong…yet another outstanding goalie prospect coming up through the ranks. Bodes well for the future. Agree with Ben’s comment…Caps have a winner in their affiliation with Hershey.
PLEASE DON’T TRADE FOR KOVALCHUK! I know you aren’t usually involved in personnel but we have enough offense. Don’t let GMGM change this team too much because we are good as is. I wouldn’t mind getting a shutdown defenseman but the price for Kovalchuk is too high. Id rather keep Alzner and our draft picks.
Looking forward to seeing my first Bears game tomorrow. A local radio station was giving away tickets to the Admirals v. Bears game at the Scope arena here in Norfolk and I was able to snag 4 of them. Go Bears!!!
Sorry, Ted. I have watched SC and Hershey win for too long. I wanna see the Caps win. Trade talent in Hershey and win in Wash.
