Sorry about that. That was an odd game, a game where we expended so much energy to lose 7 to 4. We were down 4-1; tied it up 4-4; then basically lost the “second game within the game” by a score of 3-0.
To say nothing worked on defense, in goal and on our special teams would be an understatement.
Where are all of the experts on ice quality today, by the way?
Alex Ovechkin was ready to fight to help jump start us as a team. That is what Captains have to do sometimes but Matt Bradley wouldn’t stand for that. Check out this blog post. It is witty and has great graphics and captions.
Sorry about last night. That wasn’t fun. We can’t lick our wounds as we have another game tonight.
That game not so much — but we have moved on. Read the “Bog” and I laughed ’til I cried.
Can we eliminate fighting from NHL hockey yet? Its boorish and doesn’t add anything.
I don’t understand why the NHL spent so much time after the strike season to change the rules eliminating stoppage in play, but left fighting. What is a bigger stoppage in play? Six plus minutes last night??
Ah, its a long season…nice to see the boys show some grit in an otherwise forgettable game.
All the “experts on ice quality” were wondering if the irony of the Bolts letting up and letting us back in after leading 4-1 would be lost on someone who claims to prefer winning 2-1.

They certainly don’t work at the Verizon Center.
Hopefully last night was the end of the “kindler, gentler Caps” you seemed to prefer the other day (when you were bemoaning the blowout win against Atlanta) and they get back to business playing for the win.
I wholeheartedly concur. CSN+ is just unacceptable and the flap between Comcast and Versus is looking like it’s going to affect us into the playoffs.
I am seriously considering selling my house in the Hampton Roads area to move to D.C. just to get closer to my hockey team.
The broadcast last night was on the backup Comcast Sportsnet channel, aka CSN+. For Comcast subscribers in Montgomery County, that is on channel 4. The quality of that channel is terible. I have been asking Comcast for a meaningful response as to why they use channel 4 instead of a better channel, preferably an HD channel. But they will not respond. Maybe you can get an answer, Ted. It is ridiculous. Watching the Caps on channel 4 is almost unwatchable.
Also, I say give Matt Bradley a bonus!!

You cannot start your own Sportsnetwork for your sports empire soon enough.
