Here is an interesting blog post musing about the pending trend of charging for content on the web.
Many sites will begin to charge for movies and video content. The MTV movie blog is rightfully concerned about this trend.
It mentions SnagFilms and Funny or Die as two sites that they are concerned may start to charge consumers.
I have said it before and will say it again; SnagFilms will always be free to consumers. Our filmmakers want their films to be seen far and wide and they want to help charities in the same breath. Our goal is to liberate documentaries and good work films to the largest possible audience.
We may – in the future - innovate in some types of paid download to own services or offer DVD versions of the films but our streaming basic services will ALWAYS be free. Enjoy SnagFilms.com, the best value on the Internet today. And chill MTV. Don’t fret. Enjoy and be happy.
Thanks for keeping it free – especially when the Apple tablet is threatening the idea and Rupert Murdoch is starting to dig in. And here are my thoughts on those wonderful Capitals after this evening: http://wp.me/pLiri-1w
I don’t catch too many of the movies, but I’ve watched a few you’ve linked here and was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful stories and quality.
Keep finding those gems and posting them!
