I am driving to the game. I am driving myself.
Both teams are here. The ushers are here. The on-ice officials are here. The food services people are here.
The NHL says game on.
Comcast says game on.
Hence, it is game on.
Wish us all luck.
Georgetown is on for playing Villanova tomorrow.
Wizards are on for Saturday night.
Caps vs. Pens on Sunday is still on pending Penguins’ arrival on time from Montreal.
That is what I know now as of right now.

Respect for the article, I will add up this site to my rss feeds, my roomie just stated to me about this just last week. gracias again
I’m about to eat $250 worth of tickets because My NoVA location has not been dug out by plows. This sucks! I was really looking forward to this … help!
PS: 18″ in Germantown? How about 32″ in Dulles/Ashburn where I am!!!
The last time the Caps played after a major storm as we have just had the game was postponed! The game was being played not here but in Madison Square Garden in the only city where a huge underground subway system would still allow the crowd to attend. The roads around my home are still snow covered and at best I might have made it to the nearest subway station. Unfortunately that one and almost any station within a safe distance from me will be closed. What is the point of having a game when the fans can’t get to it. While I realize that much of this is out of your hands, my only thought right now is that this game was my only chance this regular season to see the Caps play the Pens.
Any chance those of us who could not get to the game because of the weather conditions will be able to exchange the unused tickets for another game? I realize most of the rest of the season is sold out, so possibly for next season?
I appreciate the efforts of people to make it to the game, but I come from too far away to chance getting stuck on the way home. Probably 18 inches and adding fast here in Germantown!
If we were unable to make it to the game due to the snow will you be offering any type of ticket exchange? I know the Wizards are doing something for people who can not make it Saturday.
13 in a row!
WE all know what a Gordie Howe hat trick is, how about the Alex Semin hat trick: goal, assist, own-goal.
I saw a lot of empty seats in the coverage. I just hope the fans can make it home safely. Looks bad out there.
Hope you’re proud of yourself for drawing them out in this storm.
NO driving & Texting. Thirteen Wins in a row, HOLY MOSES!!!!!!!!!! What a Team effort. Way To Go Caps!
Wouldn’t if be funny if the Thrashers got stuck in DC and had to cancel their game in sunny Florida? Then the NHL and Comcast would look pretty foolish putting Caps fans at risk and ignoring the governors’ warnings to stay off the roads.
Just saw on the DCA website – all airlines have ended operations out of National Airport. At least someone has sense. I’m sure the weather will be great in Florida tomorrow.
Ted,
I believe the NHL having this game tonight is not in the public interest. You have put fans in the position of risking life and limb, not just their own mind you, in order utilize their tickets for this event. Any other responsible endeavor would have been cancelled long ago.
The great thing about the recent success of this franchise is the ever growing fan base. Tonight, I was prepared to take my son to his first Caps game. Front row seats for his birthday. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you what they go for. Quite a disappointment we won’t get to see this game. More disappointing that the NHL has such a low regard for public safety. I’ve heard it said that you are a fan friendly owner. If that is the case, I urge you to lobby the other NHL owners to disregard for your own fan base, as well as the rest of the public.
Careful driving and texting at the same time!
The decision is out of your hands obviously, but given the expected conditions out there, the decision of the League and NBC to hold the game on Sunday is irresponsible if the snow is close to what is projected. The question is not whether the Game can be held, but whether issues of public safety and other matters should take priority.
Such a bummer. Finally scored tickets to a game this year, but this storm is just going to be too huge to justify stranding myself down in DC potentially. Go Caps anyway, guess I’m watchin on tv tonight!
You are the best owner ever! Let’s go Caps!!!
