Ted, Congrats on an absolutely superb season so far with the Caps. I've been a Caps fan since the beginning and have to say that you are a breath of fresh air when it comes to ownership. Not to take anything away from Mr. Pollin, but I'm very proud of how you have taken this franchise to great heights with your decisions. I am SO looking forward to the playoffs this year!!!!
One question though... When can we expect to be able to listen to the Caps on FM radio? On those nights that I can't watch the games, the AM broadcasts just don't cut the mustard unless you are inside the beltway (and I'm not)...
Lets Go Caps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ted,

Nice comments. I like that you get it and I am trying to convince my colleagues that we should try to get it. I use your blog as an example.

OK--you won't like this. But YOU own a product. YOU should get it as far as distributing its content. YOU need to intervene in the whole DirctTV/Versus mess. If I miss a Caps playoff game because it is on VS and not on Center Ice or NHL Network or DirecTV then I am blaming YOU and 29 other ownerships of this enterprise we know as the NHL. If the problem is Mr. Bettman, get rid of him. If the problem is your (the leagues) attorneys making bad deals, get rid to them.

This is YOUR business. I am YOUR customer. I am not to be taken for granted and told to eat cake (aka "buy cable'). Don't pass this off as someone else's problem. YOU are the owner. YOU are the man. YOU have the resources and power to force this issue for YOUR customers. In the end I won't blame Versus or DirecTV. I'll blame the NHL, of which you are 1/30th owner and in a position to have some influence.

I've written to you about this in the past. I know you are busy and don't like this issue. But I am begging you to do something. Don't say you can't. I never say that to my customers. You don't either. I want to watch the Caps in the playoffs. I've been around since the begining. Don't ruin this for me. Understand your role/position/influence.

And please don't bitch about me on your blog. I don't think you are God. I don't think you need to trade for a defenseman. I think you need to distribute your product to those who want it, and some who might discover it. Intervene. Do something. You can.

Thanks.

With the utmost respect,

Paul R

I commented to friends on Sunday, that I got a response to my email that was politely critical of you all for playing Sunday. I think the standard or polite, respectful communication shows that people don't have to agree, just be civil to both walk away feeling positive.

Kudos to you and your organization for their communication.
