Thank you…We blush.
We are honored.
Read this release as we have become a finalist in Sports Business Journal’s annual “Professional Sports Team Of The Year” award ceremony and competition.
Wow!!! We have come a long way with our franchise and it is all because we have such great and committed fans. Thanks to all… Go Caps.
Yes, totally awesome. Didn’t I hear them say that this is the first time a hockey team has been considered for this award? Rock the Red & Unleash the Fury.
Not the fans. It’s the management. There’s a reason you’re in the position of being able to own this franchise, and it’s because you hire good people and then give them the tools and support they need to accomplish their objectives. That puts a good product on the ice, and that puts fannies in seats.
Kudos to you, sir, and please keep it up!
Greg
It’s so easy for fans to lay any blame on ownership and management of our favorite sports team. I’ve been a fan for many years and although it was tough during the rebuilding years, you and GMGM deserve all the credit in the world for building this franchise and managing its assets. This franchise is stacked and should be good for a long long time. Thanks for building the best team in the NHL. Sadly Washington has both the best/most well run franchise in major sports and also the one of the most disfuntional franchises in major sports. Lets hope our football club can learn from the model you have followed.
THANKS
And a pretty good owner.
Keep hitting the curve, Ted.
Teddy, Congratulations! I wish you and your franchise good luck. What a TEAM!!!
Congratulations Ted! You deserve the honour.I have always enjoyed your blog although this is my first time to comment. The Capitals are bar none the most entertaining team to watch in the NHL right now. Good luck in the playoffs! I will be watching.
P.S.: I wish we had an owner like you back in Winnipeg circa 1996.

Congratulations. It’s a joy to watch your team play the game. I’m looking forward to seeing Ovechkin dominate in the playoffs again. I’ll be rooting for you guys from up in Canada!
No surprise! As someone who occasionally attends NHL games in other cities (e.g. Buffalo, Calgary, mostly Philly), there is something different and very special about the Caps experience, both in the arena and in the community, at large (including the virtual community). The Caps have the best and largest number of bloggers (some better than others, obviously, with special kudos to Mike Vogel), and there is a buzz and excitement at Caps games you just don’t get outside of Canada. You have a great product and a fabulous team this year. . . enjoy the ride. It makes us ALL happy. . .
