Who knew??? I didn’t.
Did you know that $350k is awarded to the team and its players for winning the Presidents’ Trophy?
Pizza for everyone?
This is all new to us. All new to me.
Here is a nice article from “On Frozen Blog”. It sets a good tone for us all. Thank you.
Great accomplishment. How about splitting the money among those who made this year so great–the team, coaches, scouts, and office staff. The fans cheered the team on, but the trophy is an accomplishment of the Washington Capitals organization. Congratulations!
This is a tremendous accomplishment and we as fans appreciate all the hard work, from the owners down to the rink set up crew, that helped make this happen.
I know your philosphy on not touting regular season accomplishments too much, but are there any plans to do the presentation of the trophy at the final regular season game against the Bruins on Sunday?
Geez, nice of the league to tell you! What have some of previous winners done with the money?
Ted and team, Nice ;-D Congratulations. – jeff
I agree, big pizza party! You could finally take Manny & Olga’s up on their “Buy 1000 pizzas, get your second 1000 free” offer!
Let’s say the personal pizza’s at papa johns in the Verizon center are $8 (I don’t know, I have never had one) and there are 18,277 for a sellout crowd. That would only use up $146,216 of the 350k (granted you, the owner of the stadium, can probably get the pizza’s cheaper).
So, you should totally do it for the last home game of the season!
