Very Classy

Here is a nice story today in the Washington Post about our ongoing negotiations with the Pollin family.

I have always felt confident that everyone associated with this negotiation would do the right thing the right way. And they have across the board.

The Pollin family has always had the best interests of the community; their employees; and their teams front and center. We can learn a lot from them as to how to own and operate a public trust.

I was most appreciative for their best wishes and for the kind words. Once the deal is official; blessed by the NBA, WNBA and NHL; and we conclude the deal we will have formal and official communications with all constituencies. For now, I am very grateful to Robert Pollin for going on record with an update regarding our deal negotiations. Thank you.

Discussion Board Offline Explanation

Last night we became aware of a serious issue concerning specific discussion board users and felt it best to temporarily disable the boards and deal with the situation offline. This decision had nothing to do with negative comments stemming from the game. As you can see, all criticisms of the team, front office and ownership that do not contain profane or abusive language remain in place.

As always, our discussion boards encourage the exchange of ideas and opinions. We also ask that these discussions do not take the form of threats against the team, front office, ownership or fellow fans.

Thanks for your patience while we dealt with this issue.

Straight Talk…No Excuses

Montreal played better than we did last night.

They won. We lost. Series is tied 3 to 3.

We now play a game 7 at home. Win or go home.

While it is a shame that we have positioned ourselves into yet another game 7, we did play hard all season to secure home ice advantage.

So it all comes down to this. Can we play well and rise to the moment? Can we just focus on the game at hand in front of our home crowd?

No talk of pressure. No talk of frustration. Just time to perform.

One game. Series and season on the line.

I believe we are up for it. See you all tomorrow night and thank you for your support. We need it. Good karma. Good vibes. Go Caps.
