Hab and Hab Not’s

Just back from a bad travel experience. We left Montreal after a big win. We couldn’t land in Dulles because of fog. We then turned and ended up in Norfolk Virginia. We landed at 1:10 am. There were no customs officials available. Hence, we ended up getting off the plane at 2:15 am. We took a shuttle bus to an airport Hilton hotel and stayed the night. Got up at 6:15 am and headed back to DC.

And here we are, back at work. Exhausted but happy.

We are reading articles like this one and we will say… we shall take the high road. We won’t respond. We will just try to conduct ourselves with professionalism. We won’t take the bait. We will just try to win and win in front of our great fan base on Friday.

I am hopeful that everyone at the game on Friday will show respect to the Canadian National Anthem. Just because some folks in Montreal wish ill on us and booed our National Anthem at both games at Bell Centre, it doesn’t mean we have to retaliate or take the bait.Rise above it and disregard many main stream print based articles like this one. They are just desperate to sell a couple of more papers and it isn’t working for their circulation, for their team, and for their fan base.

Have fun. Be happy for the next 24 hours. See you all at Verizon Center. We will continue to do the right things the right way. Go Caps.

Back to Montreal

Wish us luck.

A pivotal game and an important game in this series. We fly back to Montreal with partners, friends and family. We return late after the game. We will try to rest and relax on Thursday.

We play at home on Friday. Home cooking smells good right about now Montreal and Bell Centre will be alive and loud and intimidating tonight.

The NHL Playoffs are tough and emotionally draining. Just watching some of the games last night made me nervous and we weren’t even playing. The San Jose vs. Colorado series is really a roller coaster ride!

I remain calm though and confident in our team and our prospects. I don’t think we have played particularly well yet so I am hopeful that tonight is the night that we start to hit on all cylinders. Drop the puck. Wish us luck. Go Caps.

Seth Hurwitz Rocks

Seth is my friend. He is a huge Caps fan who owns the 9:30 club and he is much cooler than me.

Thank goodness for the 9:30 club. It is truly a big part of the social fabric of our city.

Check out this Q & A as 9:30 club celebrates 30 years of rocking the house.

Bless him and bless us all. Cupcakes are forever!

Aging well?

Wow!!! Check out this article.

Look at this out take from a new DVD about Iggy Pop.

Raw Power.

1972. I am a junior in high school. I am rebelling against everything! A one of a kind album.

I remember buying it at a record store in Lowell Massachusetts.I loved David Bowie and I loved Iggy and the Stooges. My mom hated this music :-) .

Check out Iggy today. Check out Chrissie Hynde too. Aging well? You decide.

And as an aside to make you laugh…at the end of the film “Hot Tub Time Machine” what song is being played as the soundtrack to their lives?

Talking Heads “Once in a lifetime.” That is the same song I use in my book “The Business of Happiness.”

Music evokes so many emotions.

It Doesn’t Need to Be Said, I Know

At all Capitals games I am hopeful that we will rise above it all and cheer and be polite and dignified when the Canadian National Anthem is sung.

Our Canadian brothers and sisters, our allies, our biggest trading partners, our closest neighbors, our friends, and our brothers in arms.

We are our Nation’s Capital. We have a classy fan base. Be polite. Be dignified. Be respectful of our National Anthem and for the Canadian National Anthem. That is the right way to act. It is the right thing to do. Be happy. Be classy and win. Thank you. Go Caps!
