In an about face the team made a seemingly split second decision that will cement a big part of its ongoing improvement by signing its unsung hero to a long term deal. The offer was not a last ditch effort but was seen as part of a systemic plan by some.
At the end of the day it made good news for all.

A nice way to start the season but we are missing our best player. An All star that is out for the season with injury. But players are stepping up. We have depth, we have some veterans, and we have some energy because we qualified for the playoffs last season and we want to improve on that performance for our fans.

I wish we were still playing.
The Flyers and Canadiens may have had the lowest seeds in the regular season to qualify to play in the playoffs but who wouldn’t trade places with them?
The Canadiens beat us and beat Pittsburgh.
The Flyers came back from a 3 to 0 series deficit against the Bruins. They came back from a 3-0 lead by Boston in game 7 on the road to win the series. That is historic.
Both teams are deserving. Anything can and will happen in the playoffs.
This will be a great series. In the West, things went pretty much according to plan with the Sharks playing the Blackhawks. This season in the East anything can happen and it did. Kudos to both teams.
What a challenge and what a film. Provides inspiration. Seeing people over come great odds makes me tingle and makes me feel motivated to do more and to do better.
A sight challenged person climbing Everest? Yes… you have to see this to believe it.
People CAN DO the impossible.
