Jumped the Shark

Tired. Cranky. Irrelevant. Kind of weird of late.

Perez Hilton’s blog.

No longer a must-see for people in the industry.

Not serious. Check this out. How did it get so off track? Who is it aimed at and programmed for these days?

I believe one of the reasons that indieWIRE is booming, is that it treats the readers and the industry it serves — stars, directors, film makers, and viewers with respect and dignity, and with a deep commitment to the art and craft of film, television, and music production.

Jump on board the indieWIRE band wagon. Get serious. Be respectful. Maintain your dignity. Check it out here. And filled with great insider photos to boot.

Week That Was

Wow, the last week was a total blur. I have met so many people, shaken so many hands, listened to so many folks, had so many new experiences, and learned so much.

Phew. We held an internal all-hands meeting with about 400 people, a major press event with about 250 people, a 2,000 customer phone conference call, two VIP meet and greets with a total of 250 people, a non-renewed season ticket holder meeting with about 300 people, an internal sales force meeting, a Town Hall meeting with about 300 people, and a series of one on one meetings with customers, sponsors and employees.

I attended prospect work outs; I walked around the building creating my own little punch list; I reviewed information regarding the draft, free agency, and our budgets for next season for BOTH the Capitals and the Wizards; I reviewed plans for the Mystics; We prepared for the coming NBA draft events and VIP viewing parties. My head is spinning. We worked hard together and we got it all done in 7 days!

I also received and have now responded to more than 3,000 emails. And the mail continues to come in. Thank you!

I watched the Hershey Bears win a Calder Cup. I watched the Lakers beat the Celtics for an NBA championship. I watched my beautiful daughter graduate from high school. I hosted family here to enjoy her graduation.

Today is another crazy day. Off to review the NHL draft, the NBA draft, and some designs for new Wizards jerseys for an out year, followed by a Nationals game tonight.

This weekend I need to chill, work out, get some sun and clear my mind, and catch up on some sleep. What a productive, hectic, and I must say enjoyable week.
