  1. Just another in the long line of dirty hits by Ovechkin. He will get his one day. Then all of Cap’s land will cry a river.

  2. One of those players has won a Stanley Cup and the other has one playoff series win.

  3. Talbot has more Stanley Cup game winning goals than all the Capitals in team history put together. Just saying…Go Pens.

  4. Dont be surprised if ovechkin blows his knees thos year or is out with long term injury… Just sayin’

  5. Ted,

I am a little upset with you reaction to this incident. I think the Caps organization should stand for its members in cases like this one do something, like file a complain to the league on this matter so Talbot can get suspended or fined or both. His comment is no different from what Avery said a couple of years back. It’s OK if some players don’t like each other. It’s also OK when they use harsh language to intimidate each other during playing the game. However, it’s unacceptable to use this kind of language on public. I do believe that the Caps should react to this incident so our players know that the organization supports them.

    Thank you,
    Niko

  6. Talbot should be glad Ovi didn’t show up at Heinz Field. Just wait until 1/1/11. Go Caps.

  7. Ted….aren’t you above all this? Is it really necessary for you to even bring this up on your blog? I actually can’t see any other owner really getting near this. Ironically, you can speak your mind on your blog, but Max gets criticized for doing so? It seems to me that a certain Mr. Umberger said some things that you got huffy about, and we all know how that turned out…….

  8. If that was before Talbo scored both goals in the Stanley Cup Game 7, i could have said the glare of the cup was in Max’s eyes and that is why he did not see Ovechkin.

But since that “hit” was a few years ago, i can only say, i guess Ovie’s knee was AWOL.

  10. Hey Ted, its ok for your guy to be an jerk in the minds of others, it doesn’t mean he isn’t a good player.

I love MJ, he’s a jerk (HOF acceptance speech)
I love TW, he’s a jerk (way before the scandal)

Ovie, can hop in the Douche Canoe with them, its ok, as long as he scores goals for you.

Talbot met him and thinks hes an jerk, so what, maybe he is?

  11. This is quite possibly the best post in the history of Ted’s Take. I’d comment on the link itself, but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for the next reader.
