We have installed free, unrestricted wireless Internet access at Verizon Center, and it’s currently available for Mystics games and will be available for the upcoming Capitals and Wizards seasons. Our new FanAccess Wi-Fi network allows fans with wireless devises the ability to connect to the web from their seats.
I wish I could say right now that we guarantee 100% coverage, but there are frequency limitations. We constantly will be monitoring the number of users and adding access points as needed. Unfortunately logistics prohibit concourse access, but Wi-Fi will be available in the Players Club, Dewar’s Club and the Acela Club. And I can assure you we will be fine-tuning, and will do everything possible to accommodate as many fans as possible.
Love the idea Ted. Signal is great, speed is a bit lacking, but prob will get better with more access points or repeaters. 100% improvement with AT&T signal and speed though. Works fantastic up here in 432. Keep the tech improvements coming! Love that idea posted earlier with webcams or game streams. Maybe even a Leonsis high-roller box cam??
good because i could never get any service with AT&T in there. Great news Ted!
Excellent! Thank you Ted!
Read your book – enjoyed and learned. Thanks. During last yrs playoff games purchsed tiks from a website. Drove 2.5 hours from Hershey to Verizon Cntr to get them at box office. Tickets did not arrive – vendor mistake. Ticket staff saw my wife and I did not get the tickets, assit mgr came out verified with vendor tickets were supposed to be there – got us replacement tickts – saw game. We came down for a second playoff game (infamous game 5) and gave the ticket staff Hershey chocolate and candy bars for their great customer service.
Re: food health report for Verizon center – I ran a restaurant and I know inspections are a pain – but I never saw inspectors being thorough as a bad thing. Suggest Transparency – post latest health reports outside each vendors place – and goals.
thanks for all you have done for the Caps and DC.
That is awesome!!!!! and makes sense. Now can we get bottled water down to $2, there is no reason in the world that bottled water should cost more then $2 anywhere in the world.
Thanks for the access.
Thanks for that – that is truly awesome! Can you tell us what the SSID will be? Ask the people installing it for this information.
Ted-
Great job on the WiFi. Will it be available during Georgetown games??
Hoya Saxa.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
AWESOME! I have a mini-laptop that travels perfectly and would be great for in-game Twittering, and maybe some Home Work catch up to….
Thanks Ted. Your efforts are truly appreciated.
yeah! this is great! thanks ted!
You should look at what’s being done with “Yinz Cam” in Pittsburgh with Carnegie Mellon. It’s a pretty cool experience. I loved using it. The only downside was that I had to be at the Pens games
Thank you so much! You never stop showing us how you are the greatest owner in sports! You’ve had the Verizon Center for a mere months and it’s already seen small, yet huge changes. I’ve never been so pumped to go to the first preseason game.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
