It is a little thing.

You will see many changes at Verizon Center and around our teams this coming season.

My goal is 101 visible signs of change in 101 days. Big changes and small changes. I hope they add up to a combined set of nice improvements for our fans. Most of the changes – which we will communicate to you in a formal way soon - were generated via ideas to me from you, our fans.

Yes, the garage has been painted. It looks more open, brighter and cleaner now.

We pressure cleaned outside of the arena yesterday and we cleaned some more of the windows. Our staff is dedicated and professional and they care about you and our city!

Every day we are pouring energy, passion and hard work into making Verizon Center a world class facility; safe; secure; clean and modern. Mr. Pollin believed in the community. He wanted the building to be a great modern public space. The building is world class. It is our goal to keep it updated and maintained and to make you all proud.

  1. Don’t need to redo the seats. TD Garden has ugly yellow seats, but when Boston plays, you wouldn’t tell by all the green they wear. Same thing’ll happen with the Caps.

  2. No need to change the seats — just fill them all with folks wearing red Caps sweaters.

    Trust me I can’t even imagine the cost of the labor….forget about the chairs themselves. To pull all of them out and put them back in…It’s almost time to get some slip covers for the backs and call it a day :-p

  5. Agree with R Diehl! I emailed Mr. Leonsis about it and his response was “Kinda expensive to redo all the seats! Yikes!”

    yes it might be expensive, but it would be well worth it if it was done!

  7. Careful with the paint, my friend. One of the reasons Verizon Center looks so great after 10+ years is that the concrete in the interior has held up very well. Once you start painting it, it will look great for a short period of time, but then will get awfully drab awfully quickly. And once you’ve painted, all you can do is put on more paint to freshen it up.
